We're thrilled to share a huge milestone—our very first classroom aquarium is officially set up and ready to welcome its new residents!
This tank was installed in Ms. Kathy’s 5th grade classroom at West Sedona School as part of our Little Tanks, Big Lessons program, which brings rescued aquarium animals and equipment into schools to support hands-on education. While the fish will be arriving next week, the tank is already capturing attention and curiosity from young learners.
Everything used in this setup—from the tank to the decorations and filter was donated through our rescue. Instead of being discarded, these items now have a second life, just like the fish who will soon call this tank home.
Through this program, students will have the chance to:
Observe and care for live aquatic animals
Learn about ecosystems, responsibility, and environmental stewardship
Engage in science lessons inspired by real-world experience
This is just the beginning! We’re excited to expand to more classrooms and schools, using rescued animals to inspire the next generation of ocean and freshwater stewards.
A huge thank you to Ms. Kathy and the entire team at West Sedona School for being the very first to open their classroom to this project. Your enthusiasm, support, and love for learning made this installation possible, and we can’t wait to watch your students grow alongside their new fishy friends.
Stay tuned for photos of the new fish arriving soon!
